Theresa Karpovich of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026. She was 87 years old.

Theresa was born in Philadelphia and spent her career as a secretary and homemaker. She cherished her role as a caregiver and devoted herself to caring for those around her. Her strong faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Theresa was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.

Theresa is survived by her daughters, Michele (Ronald Staib); Alicia (Robert Wiest); and Felicia (Mark Smith); her siblings, Marie Elaine Miske; Rita (Joseph Logan); Joseph Powlick (Yong); Patricia (Daniel Bennett); and Ronald Powlick (Donna); 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Karpovich, Sr., and her son, John J. Karpovich II.

Funeral Services

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. at St, Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707, followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Theresa’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.
