Rudolph J. DiBonaventura

Rudolph John DiBonaventura, age 91, went home to heaven on Monday, May 8, 2023.  Rudy was born in his house on Scott Street in Little Italy to Ersilia and Pasquale DiBonaventura.  Rudy went to Saint Thomas Grade School and then became a proud Salesian gentleman. After graduation from Goldey Beacom College, Rudy entered the Marine Corps and served his country during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the military, Rudy became the shop foreman at John’s Body Shop and in 1979 opened his own business, Rudy’s Auto Body along with his first wife, Linda Sparkman DiBonaventura who passed away in 2005.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Marta Csoltko DiBonaventura, his two daughters Lisa Bilodeau (husband Paul) and Leah Walters (husband Darren) and step-son Joseph Csoltko (wife Christina).  Other survivors are his sister, Adelaide (Dee) DiBonaventura, his grandchildren Daniel Bilodeau (Victoria), Meghan Vinci (Marc), Joshua Bilodeau (Grace), Zoe Wilson, Annabeth Bilodeau, Ely Walters, and step-grandchildren Amanda, Valentino and Violetta Czoltko as well as great grandchildren, Adelaida (Addie) Vinci, Thomas Bilodeau, and Luca Vinci.  In addition to his parents and first wife, Rudy is pre-deceased by his sister Helen, brother Anthony, and step-son John.

Funeral Services

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 17 from 10-11 a.m. at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church at 901 N. DuPont Street in Wilmington, Delaware with the funeral Mass beginning at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Special Olympics Delaware at sode.org in honor of Rudy’s brother, Anthony DiBonaventura.
