Richard Charles Armstrong

Richard Charles Armstrong “Dick”, 87, passed away on March 13, 2023.  He was born July 13 to Robert H. Armstrong and Ruth Ide Armstrong in Wilmington, DE. Dick graduated from P.S. DuPont High School and University of Delaware. He was also a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

After serving in the United States Army as 2nd Lieutenant and stationed in El Paso, TX, Dick worked as a civil engineer and project manager for Frank C. Sparks Company.  He later worked for John E. Healy and Sons where he retired.

Dick was an avid UD Football fan, spending many years cheering on the team with friends and family.  He also loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. But most of all, Dick loved spending his time in Ocean City, NJ.

Dick was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Bob Armstrong and his son, Stephen Armstrong. He is survived by his son, Eric (Pam) Armstrong of Newark, his grandsons, Alex Armstrong, Zach Armstrong and Connor Armstrong of Wilmington and his daughter-in-law Michelle Armstrong of Wilmington.

The family would like to thank the team at Somerford House, and AccentCare Hospice for the loving care given to Dick.
