Paul Blake

Paul Albert Blake, aged 76, passed away peacefully at Accent Care Hospice on Sunday, June 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Havertown, Pennsylvania, Paul graduated from Haverford Senior High School in 1968, where he played lacrosse and football.

During his career years, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for apartment complexes as well as Brookhaven Borough for the highway department.  He also loved DJ’ing at the Alpine Inn in Springfield, PA and working at the Conchester Lanes in Chichester, PA.

Paul spent many years volunteering for Manoa Fire Department, Briarcliffe Fire Department and Brookhaven Fire Department. He enjoyed his time at the fire companies and volunteering for their Bingo nights and driving the trucks. He bowled for many years on various teams at the Conchester bowling alley. In addition, he sang karaoke and would entertain those in the crowd with Johnny Cash hits and his specialty, “In da Club”, by 50 Cent. Paul was an avid model train collector and loved anything to do with trains. Paul also loved cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Helen Blake and his brother Tom.  He is survived by his former wife of 26 years, Linda Moses, his three sons, Jeffrey, Tom (Jennifer) and Matthew. Paul “Poppi” is also survived by six grandchildren, Brandon, Ashleigh, Sean, Abigale, Gavin and Declan.

In the end, Paul bravely battled COPD for many years and fought to remain independent. He wanted to do things on his terms and that is how he left this world.
