Norma Adele Corl

Norma Adele (Panzarella) Corl of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away with family by her side on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the age of 95.

She was the oldest child born to Italian immigrant parents in New York City where she later met and married her husband, Jack, and started a family. After raising their children in Levittown, PA, Norma and Jack retired to the mountains of Pennsylvania.

Norma had a zest for life with an unquenchable curiosity. She was deeply spiritual and her Catholic faith was fueled by an unwavering trust in the power of prayer. Norma was fascinated with lighthouses as a symbol of God’s guiding light through difficult times and studied their rich history. She was proud of her Italian heritage, fiercely devoted to her family and passionate about learning. Norma enjoyed reading, listening to music, dancing, sewing, gardening and golfing as well as playing bingo and poker. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan whose favorite teams were the Phillies and the Eagles.

Norma was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 53 years, John (“Jack”) J. Corl, and grandson, William (“Billy”) S. Corl. She was loved by her six children and their families who will always cherish their memories of her.

A visitation followed by a Catholic Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.

To the Corl Family Marion, Joseph and I would like to extend our deepest condolences on the passing of “Aunt Norma”. I am so sorry I could not be there to celebrate her life in person but our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. I have so many great memories of the times my family spent at your house in Levittown and both she and my Uncle Jack were both very special people. Love, Joseph Pallotta
