Nick Pittas

On Tuesday, March 24 2020, Nick Pittas, devoted father, brother, uncle and friend to many, suddenly passed away at age 59.

Those who knew Nick knew how much he meant to everyone he encountered. He was the type who could brighten a room with his presence. He was a hardworking, family oriented, tough yet lovable man. He lived life with great zeal and great love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike. Nick was the type of person who would give you his last dollar and the shirt off his back whenever you needed it. Many people called him Pops or Poppa Pit and considered him a father figure because he had enough love to go around. Under a tough exterior, laid one of the most loving men God saw fit to grace this earth.

Nick is survived by his three children, Melissa, Nicholas and Alexis, four grandchildren, Mariah, Taylor, Zach and Dion, two great-grandchildren Beau and Luke, his brother John, sister Marika and the numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to their Uncle Nicky. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Louis and Anthippi Pittas (Xentes).

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held by his children at a future date, to be determined by the length of the current quarantine.

Though I’ve only had the pleasure of meeting you a handful of times, each and every time was memorable. You always had a smile on your face and a loving heart, that I see you’ve instilled in your children every time I see them. You’re one tough, funny, awesome human being and this is truly a loss the whole community will have to bear. The world lost a good person, fantastic parent, and a true friend. My heart goes out to my buddy Nick Pit, his family and all the countless friends you’ve made in your life. May God raise you and your family up. Rest easy to an outstanding man. I see so much of my perception of you in your children. And Pit - If you need anything just reach out brother. We’re stronger together. God bless the Pittas family in this trying time. A great family like yours shouldn’t have to endure such a tragic loss so unexpectedly. God bless you my friend.

Even then and the next 14 years, you watched over me and protected me! I just thought you were scared of my Pop! Lol. But it was after talking to you, I realize it was just who you are!
