I will always remember Melinda as a woman with a giving heart! She had a special place for children particularly her son,Brian and numerous nieces and nephews in the Shelton family. One special memory of Melinda was when we drove cross country from California to Delaware. Both of us loved to sing ... in the many hours of this long trip ... we sang multiple Broadway Show tunes and for good measure some favorite Catholic Hymns . Remembering the nuns saying in school “He/She who sings pray twice.” Our Faith was taking a road trip! Blessings to you , Melinda and prayers for our family! Much Love Always, Breda

What can one say about Big Sister Mel. Born in Houston, second of tenchildren in the family and nickname "the Big Noise" The easiest of baby sistters that always made sure we had a dinner cheese steaks or hoagies as long as SHE DID NOT PAY! She had a beautiful voist and obttained a music scholarship to Mount St Mary's Academy outside philly. Dad's favorite, she always drove the red convertible to school the last two years of high school. She brought the house down playing Bloody Mary in South Pacific. I always fwlt she was a lot like our Granmother Pearl Shelton who was Dad's Mom. She had a loving heart and always tried to help others. She finally got her degree when living in San Diego by going to National Unversity. At the end, with the help of staff at Sacred Heart Village she found here way back to Our Lord Jesus through her intercessions to Mary the Mother of God. Jesus you received a BIG perssonality on Jan 4, 2020 I hope you and Angel Gabriel can handle it.

How do I remember Mel? A couple of thoughts spring to mind............Mel had an incredible voice and whenever she sang, whether in the choir, in one of the many musicals, or just around the house, she could really bring it. There are very few singers who can bring chills when you are listening and Mel was one of them. When I became first engaged to Janis, Mel sang a little concert at Mom and Dad's in La Jolla and it was most memorable although we did ask her to sing Rebel Yell by Billy Idol. When I was in high school and living at home, she did find my pot stash and turned it in to Mom. That was before Pink Floyd at the Spectrum..............Enough of memory lane because Mel is in a better place and joins Mom and Dad and Johnny in the hereafter. Godspeed Mel!
