Maureen Bracken Fry

Maureen Bracken Fry, of Ocean City, New Jersey, formerly of Norristown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend who left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and happy memories.

Maureen was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late William O. Bracken and Evelyn Marie Langfeld Bracken in 1948. Upon graduation from Brandywine High School in 1966, she embarked on a career in financial operations. Maureen started out in check processing with Philadelphia National Bank (PNB). She remained a dedicated and loyal employee throughout multiple acquisitions—from PNB to Money Access Center (MAC), to Electronic Payment Systems (EPS), to STAR—ultimately retiring from First Data.

Maureen’s 46-year marriage to Christopher W. Fry was characterized by deep friendship, mutual respect, and dedication to family. They loved to travel, especially to San Diego and Florida, along with many other places over the years. They were always generous about sharing those experiences, often inviting family and friends to stay with them during their trips to Florida.

For 17 years, Maureen and Chris were devoted dog parents to their miniature schnauzer, Schnapps, who was very much a part of their family.

Maureen enjoyed the simple things that made her happy. She loved watching her stories, going to flea markets, browsing Second Chance thrift store, and collecting seashells and butterflies.

Maureen’s faith and spirituality were a steady source of strength and guidance. She had a longtime affinity for mediums and the idea of connecting with those who had passed. Over the years, she found comfort and fascination in those connections. According to her most trusted medium, when Maureen made her own journey to the other side, Schnapps would be there waiting for her—first in line. For those who knew how much she loved him, it is hard to imagine a more fitting welcome.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, William O. Bracken and Evelyn Bracken; her sister, Gail Bracken; her brother, Owen Bracken; and her nephew, Jason Baptiste. She leaves behind her husband, Christopher Fry; her sister, Sharon Price; and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, and friends.

Maureen’s life was defined by generosity to her loved ones and dedication to family and friends—qualities that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
