Mary Lou Ford

Mary Lou (Skaggs) Ford, age 86, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, peacefully at home in Kennett Square, PA after a short illness. She was born in Pampa, TX, and lived in White Deer, Amarillo, Houston, Orange and Bridge City, TX; New Castle and Wilmington, DE; and Kennett Square, PA.

She earned a B.A. degree in primary education from Texas State College for Women and a teaching certificate from Stanford University. She taught in Houston, TX, and Wilmington, DE, and was an administrative assistant at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts and the Delaware Medical Society before retiring in 1992.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, of 63 years; by daughter Karrie and her husband Brian Haase; by daughter Meg and her husband John Stewart; by daughter Claire; and by granddaughters Molly and Sophie.

Honoring her request, there will be no memorial service, but a graveside service for family and close friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Reserve Fund at Kendal at Longwood, Kennett Square, PA, 19348.
