Mary C. Stabler, age 80, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on May 27, 2020.

She attended Friends School in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from Chapel Hill School in Waltham, Mass. Mary was a proud homemaker for all of her adult life.

Survived by her beloved daughter Margaret Porter Stabler, brothers John A. Speakman, Jr. of Wilmington, DE and H. Porter Speakman of Matthews, NC, and three grandchildren: Thomas, Benjamin, and Madeline.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, Attn: Jeanette Hayes

    My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time, and may your memories give you strength. I will miss our long talks, and all the great advice you have always given me when needed it the most. Jill was a beautiful person inside and out, she will be greatly missed.

    I was Jill’s closest friend at Chapel Hill...have been looking for her for years......never knew her as Mary....I am so glad to have found her, but so sad to have found her after she went home to the Lord. I remember the wonderful times we had together at school, in Wilmington and Plainfield.....even our trip to Cheshire to visit her broTher.
