Marietta “Tita” Puey Abello, age 87, of Wilmington, Delaware, left this world to join Our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November, 4, 2023.
Tita was born in Sagay, Philippines in 1936. She attended St. Teresa’s College and graduated in 1957. She emigrated to the United States with her husband in 1961 and was a devoted wife, mother of three, and grandmother of four. She was a loving homemaker, and was an avid golfer and bridge player.
She was loved by all who knew her for her vibrant and outgoing personality. She was a deeply religious woman who belonged to the St. Mary Magdalene parish and was involved in several religious pilgrimages to the Holy Lands.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Manuel G Abello, as well as her children Ms. Marjorie Gigi Abello-Murphy and husband Dr. Christopher Murphy of Germantown, MD, their daughters Alison and Caroline, Dr. Patricia Abello and her husband Mr. Michael Johns of Cincinnati, OH, their daughters Natalie and Vivian, and Mr. Joseph Abello of Herndon, VA.
Her family will be traveling with her to her final resting place in Sagay, Philippines where her memorial and funeral services will be held at the family cemetery in Pandanan with her extended family and friends in attendance.
