Margaret F. Greenleaf

Margaret Greenleaf (Finney) peacefully passed away on July 20, 2026, at her home at Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA. surrounded by her loving family.

Margaret was born in Wichita, Kansas on December of 1935.  She was the beloved child of   Tom and Grace (Lininger) Finney.

She is survived by her daughter Christie Greenleaf and her husband John Jaen; their children Tyler and Meg Jaen; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, her loving husband and daughter Michael and Shelley Greenleaf and her siblings, Jeannie Walstrom, Katie Stannard and Charlie Finney.

She lived in Wichita, Lawrence and Topeka Kansas and attended Kansas University (KU) earning her teaching degree. This is where she met the love of her life Mike.  She became a first-grade teacher until she had her girls where she held her favorite job as a full-time mother and home maker.

While raising their daughters they moved to Wilmington, Delaware. She then moved to Maris Grove, PA, where she spent the last 19 years living doing all the activities she loved to do.

Margaret lived her 90 years with a smile on her face and always being joyful and fun. She loved to compete in every type of game and sport.  Her favorites included pool, swimming, tennis, golf and horseback riding.  She also loved playing board games and no matter who was in the room she brought them into the game.  She also loved arts and crafts and sharing this talent with all.  She was always the life of every party.

In lieu of any flowers or gifts, the family wants to honor Margarets love for horses with donations to Thorncroft Equestrian Center, a non-profit providing recreational horseback riding and equine -assisted services for all ages and abilities.  Donations can be made on the following website, thorncroft.org.  Please note in the comments that this is in memory of Margaret Greenleaf.

Mrs. Greenleaf was a big part of my childhood. I shared many happy moments playing spoons with Christie, my friends, and Mrs. Greenleaf on their living room floor. Our families took ski trips and other memorable outings together! She was always kind, engaged, and a lot of fun to be with! She lived a long and loving life. Sending love to Christie, John, and the family, Amy Silver
