Kirk Ashley Young

Kirk Ashley Young, age 62, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on November 3, 2021 in Wilmington.

Kirk was a 1976 graduate of Howard High School. After graduating, he went on to work as a longshoreman in Wilmington. He was known around the South Bridge Community as “Black Man.” A father of five children, Kirk’s favorite piece of advice for his children was “Stay Focused.”

Kirk was preceded in death by his parents, Ellwood Ameche and Hattie Lorena Young and his son, Kaden Young.

He is survived by his children: Noshia Saunders (Craighead), Kirk A. Young-Johnson, Justin Kirk Johnson, and Kareem Young and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions may be mailed to Noshia Saunders at 92 Boone Trce, Radcliff, KY 40160.
