Kimberly A. Maguire, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. She was 65 years old—far too young to leave behind so much love, laughter, and life.
Born in 1960, Kimberly was the daughter of the late Victoria E. Masten (D. Kenneth) and the late John H. Maguire (Sandra), all of Wilmington, Delaware.
After graduating from Thomas McKean High School in Wilmington, Kimberly embarked on an exciting, coast-to-coast sales career that spanned several industries, including banking, industrial chemicals, multilevel marketing, and advertising media. A gifted salesperson with a natural instinct for recognizing opportunities and connecting with people, she carved out a successful niche in marketing, advertising, and emerging technologies. Throughout her career, she held positions ranging from consultant and account manager to regional manager, earning the respect and loyalty of colleagues and customers alike.
But Kimberly was so much more than her professional accomplishments.
Kimberly had a way of making life brighter simply by being in it. Her beautiful, infectious smile and those unmistakable, generous dimples could light up a room. She never met a stranger, and her genuine kindness and warmth made people feel welcome wherever she went. She had a rare gift for turning acquaintances into friends and customers into lifelong relationships. Her relationships were real, her generosity was genuine, and her loyalty to the people she loved ran deep.
Perhaps Kimberly’s greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel special. Whether you had known her for decades or just met her, she made you feel as though you mattered—and you did. She gave people her attention, her warmth, and her unmistakable enthusiasm. Her friendships were not simply numerous; they were meaningful. She had a remarkable way of making each person feel seen, appreciated, and genuinely cared for.
And then there was Kimberly the storyteller. She had a wonderful gift for weaving a story, bringing every tale to life with her own special flair, colorful details, and a playful touch of imagination. She knew how to captivate an audience, keep everyone guessing, and leave people laughing long after the story ended. Those who knew Kimberly best knew to enjoy every entertaining detail and perhaps read between the lines now and then. Her stories, like Kimberly herself, were never ordinary—and they were always memorable.
Kimberly loved her family and friends, the beach, music, vacations, and her work. She was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed a good tequila drink, and never needed much of an excuse to celebrate life. She embraced its adventures, treasured its friendships, and found joy in the people and experiences that made each day special. With her infectious smile, playful spirit, and unmistakable zest for life, Kimberly brought an energy to every gathering that made people want to be around her. Above all, she loved life itself, and she lived it in a way that made an impression on everyone fortunate enough to share in it.
For the past six years, Kimberly fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Though her journey was difficult, her life was never defined by her illness, but by the remarkable spirit, warmth, and love she shared with those around her.
In addition to her parents, Kimberly was proceeded in death by her cherished grandparents, John Rajz and Mary A. Taney. Kimberly is survived by her beloved sister, Lynn Shaw (Michael); her brother, Matthew Masten; her sister, Dottie Deegan (Richard); her nephew Michael; her nieces Paige and Madison; many cousins; and the multitude of close and dear friends she made throughout her life. These friendships were among Kimberly’s greatest treasures, and the love she shared with so many will remain an enduring part of her legacy.
Kimberly was taken far too soon, leaving behind a world that is a little less bright without her. But her beautiful smile, those unforgettable dimples, her playful spirit, and the countless stories she shared will live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved her. She had a remarkable way of making people feel special, and that gift will never be forgotten.
Kimberly’s life was a gift to those who knew her. She lived with enthusiasm, loved generously, laughed often, and made lasting connections wherever she went. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave, the laughter she inspired, and the memories she created will remain forever.
Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of her family and the countless friends she gathered along the way. Kimberly was one of a kind—a genuine unicorn whose warmth, generosity, humor, and zest for life made her unforgettable. Her strong faith in Jesus Christ and giving back to the community helped shape the beautiful soul that she was.
