Karen Stein

Karen Stein, age 56, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, due to complications related to early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Karen was born in Englewood NJ to the late Charles and Maryanne Sheeler. She is survived by her husband, Mike, son Matthew, and siblings Lisa, Lynda, Kristin, and David.

Karen was a truly remarkable person who willingly shared her warmth, kindness, generosity, and smile with everyone she encountered. Her presence filled any room she entered, and her laugh was the spark that ignited any party. As a wife, mother, and sibling, she was loving, supportive, and the most amazing role model Matthew could have ever had, the most beautiful and loving wife, and dedicated sibling.

While condolences are welcome, a more appropriate expression of support for our family would be to express thanks and gratitude towards the doctors, nurses and health care professionals who selflessly dedicate their time energy, compassion and in many cases deep love for their patients and families. The care and support that we received from so many professionals was truly remarkable and we will be forever grateful for them. Please thank anyone you encounter in the health care field and express your gratitude towards them for showing up every day, demonstrating amazing love and compassion both as a responsibility but more importantly as an honor, privilege, and deep respect for others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wilmington Country Club on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution HFC to https://www.wearehfc.org/ in Karen’s name.
