John William Hogan III

John William Hogan, III, age 78, of Wilmington, DE passed away on October 28, 2023.

John was a 1963 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and attended Memphis State University.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy  –  Construction Battalion (CB’s) and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. He was employed by the duPont Company in Memphis as a construction superintendent.

He is survived by his wife Kathrine B. Hogan of Wilmington; son John W. Hogan IV of Pawleys Island, SC; daughter Stacey H. Tietze of Wilmington; mother Alice King Hogan of Wilmington; step-son William D. Bockoven of RI; step-son David M. Bockoven of PA; and sister Colleen H. Sanderson of Wilmington.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday December 1, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 West 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806.  Interment will be private.

    Trina…..Margee and I were very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing and extend our condolence to your entire family. At times like this you need to remember those good old times you had with Jack. Hey, back in the late 1960’s Jack was an Iron Worker and helping build the 2nd span of the DE Memorial Bridge…..You can’t get much “higher” than that.
