Sorry for your loss. Just had to share my memory of Professor Shellenberger. I graduated from UD with an Accounting degree in 1973. To earn some money to help out with my bills I was a student assistant for Professor Shellenberger for a year or two. Loved his class and loved helping him out. Ended up going to law school and I am in the process of winding up my career. I am 68 years old! Glad to hear he loved Elk Mountain. Been there several times. Anyway, glad he led a long and prosperous life. To his family, again, sorry for your loss.

As an accounting major at the University of Delaware, I had classes with Professor Shellenberger. He was an excellent professor and was able to explain the subject well. I loved my major and since he taught my first two courses in accounting, he instilled the love I had for my life long profession. I am sorry for your loss, however please know that through his teaching he touched many lives, and his memory lives on in those he touched.

Margaret, John, and Clare, Love my memories of John from when I was too young to know which friend he was, to when you all taught me to ski at Elk Mountain on '210' skis!!!, to when I was stuck between the two of you in the back seat for our cross country trip, to when the two of you would come out to Utah and show me what a healthy snow loving couple you were!! Alas, I do not measure up as I live in Park City and don't ski even though I am 30 years younger! I am weak compared to the two of you! God Bless John and you all. I know he is gliding thru countless meadows of powder in the sun as we speak without any aches and pains! Love, Doug

Warmed up my toes as a little kid on the ski slopes!! Always had a White Christmas at out ski home at Elk!! Up the ante for a decade at Vail. You attended every sporting event for my son. Football from the age of 8 through high school as well as Lacrosse. He now coaches professional athletes. I know how extremely proud you were of him. He coached Kris Jenkins and we will never ever forget the buzzer beater win!! You gave us the best of everything, but mostly your unconditional love. Part of you resides in my home and not a morning goes by that I don’t greet with you with morning dad. And I hear you say morning Clare!
