John Mason Pace

John Mason Pace, age 80, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away on September 13, 2018 at Freedom Village Brandywine, Coatesville, PA.

John graduated from the University of Virginia in 1961. He double majored in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and was honored to live on The Lawn.

He was employed by Hercules and Merck as a consulting engineer. John enjoyed tinkering around the house and always came up with bigger and better ways to “fix” things. Mr. Pace, as many called him, was a true Southern gentleman with a keen sense of humor.

His memory will be carried on by his wife of 55 years of marriage, Adrienne Walton Pace; daughter, Andrea Pace Inman and her husband, John R. Inman; grandson, John “Jack” Inman; and granddaughters, Krista and Lauren Inman, all living in Chester Springs, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association either online (www.alz.org) or mail to the national headquarters at 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

John was one of the nicest men that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He was a lot of fun to be around and a great conversationalist. It was fun to debate with him on the engineers way vs. the common sense approach to solving a problem. I will always have fond memories of John and Adrienne as well. Thanks for making a positive impact on my life.

    Dave Johnson writes,
John was a lifelong friend who will be greatly missed. As a sales manager and associate of mine at Hercules Water Management Chemicals, John will be humorously remembered for wearing polyester suits - back when they were in vogue. He said “I sell chemicals, I wear chemicals” !! “Mr. Pace” as we always addressed him, also always wore a clip on tie. Much safer if it were ever to be caught in machinery! Rest In Peace, my friend.
