JoAnn M. Dougherty

JoAnn M. Dougherty, age 73, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away at home with her loving family by her side on June 23, 2025.

JoAnn was born in Linton, North Dakota to Jacob and Mary Bosch.  She was a proud 1969 graduate of Linton High School.  Shortly after graduating, she moved to South Dakota and met the love of her life, Dennis “Doc” Dougherty.  They married in June 1970 and moved to Claymont, Delaware where they raised three beautiful daughters.  She worked for years at Strawbridge & Clothier and ultimately retired as the Director of Eldercare, a companion service in Wilmington.  She enjoyed boating, the beach, and traveling on the back of Doc’s motorcycle.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mary Bosch, her husband, Dennis W. Dougherty and her brother, Robert Bosch.

JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Nicole (Gregory) Masci, Carrie (Carlo) Pini, and Melissa Dougherty.  She is also survived by her greatest joys, grandchildren Kylee, Elizabeth, Michael, Emily, Angelina, AJ, and Nicholas.

She leaves behind her sister, Diane Richter and faithful friend, Rosemary Werner, both of North Dakota.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at St. Helena’s Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809.
