Jean was raised in Ottawa and was presented as a debutante. After her marriage she lived in Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, Wilmington, and Amsterdam. The latter half of her life was lived in Wilmington DE. In Montreal she was an active volunteer with the Victorian Order of Nurses and the Canadian veteran’s hospital. In Wilmington, she was an avid bridge player and volunteered locally. She was an active member of the Greenville Country Club. She particularly enjoyed cultural events in Wilmington and Philadelphia.
She mentored many people to a better life and gained cherished friends through her long involvement in AA. She maintained their confidences and bolstered their resolve while providing an elegant example of ongoing personal success.
She finished her life at the Wilmington Country House – initially as an independent resident, and finally in the health care section. The family would like to thank the staff at the Country House for the unfailing excellence of their care. Also, Vitas provided superb hospice care.
