Jacqueline Elaine Socorso

Jacqueline Elaine Socorso (Jackie) passed away peacefully on June 8^th surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Helena (Lort) Socorso.  Jackie graduated from Padua Academy in 1959 and Goldey-Beacom with a secretarial degree in 1961. She worked for the DuPont Company for almost 20 years and retired from the State of Delaware in 2003.   Jackie was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to classical music and playing the piano.  She also enjoyed watching musicals, her favorite being “1776”.  The only time Jackie took a trip on a plane was a 17-hour flight to visit her son John in Thailand.  Jackie cherished and was very generous to her 6 grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by her children, Veronica Gallagher and her husband Patrick of Hockessin, DE, David Roehsler and his wife Mary of Elkton, MD, and John Roehsler of Wilmington, DE; Daughter-in-Law, Melody Roehsler; Grandchildren, Reece Roehsler, James Gallagher, Sophia, Carl, William and Dominic Roehsler and Niece, Kersten Kortbawi and her family.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Donna Roehsler.
