Irene W. Anders

Irene Anders passed away on September 24, 2018 at the age of 92.

She was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Medina, NY where her father had a delicatessen. She graduated from Medina High, and at the age of 16, went to work for the DuPont Company in Niagara Falls. Her entire career, well over thirty years, was with DuPont where she was a buyer at the Niagara Falls, Harrisburg and Wilmington locations. Getting a bargain was always her thing, even in retirement.

In 1976, she married Fred Anders and enjoyed many happy years together, traveling some, but really enjoying golf. They played in Europe, Canada, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand. They were members of the Niagara Falls Country Club, the Country Club of Harrisburg and the DuPont Country Club. In the 1980’s, Irene broke 90!

Funeral Services

A service will be held at 2 pm on Friday September 28, 2018 at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 pm. Burial will be private.
