Helen Heatwole Gregory

Helen Heatwole Gregory, 93, celebrated her new birth eternal on May 3, 2018 surrounded by family at Compassionate Care Hospice, in Wilmington, DE. Born in Clifton Forge, VA, she lived most of her life in Nashville, TN, where she was a long-time and active member of First Lutheran Church. She and her husband moved to Delaware in 2002.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Nelson Gregory, and her sister Margaret Gresham (Hugh) of Pasadena, MD. Helen is survived by her two children, Nelson Gregory, Jr. “Greg” (Becky) of Nashville, TN, and Jeannine Herrmann (Dave) of Wilmington, DE, four grandchildren, Greg Munson (Mandy), Shane Munson (Samantha) of Delaware, Adam Gregory (Laura), and Trey Gregory of Nashville, three great grandchildren, Hope, Matthew, and Tyler, along with her loving cat, Furby.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff (and residents) of The Kutz Home and Compassionate Care Hospice. Thank you for taking such good care of our girl!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, or to The Kutz Home, 704 River Road, Wilmington, DE 19809.

Funeral Services

A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wilmington, DE, on Sat. May 12, at 11 am.

    Some of my best memories in my life is the times spent with Uncle Nelson & Helen in Roanoke. VA & Nashville with my parents. They will stay with me until I join them all in Heaven.
