Georgine Moorhead

Mrs. Georgine Moorhead, 96, of Newark, Delaware formally of Williamsport, PA passed away peacefully during the early hours on Sunday November 11th at Brookdale Assisted living in Newark, DE.

Georgine graduated from New Castle High School and later worked at the Alcoa aluminum plant during WWII, had an Avon business and enjoyed being a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed using her stationary and corresponding with numerous friends and relatives over the years.  She was president of the United Methodist Women and was an active member of the choir for many years.  After her husband Harold’s retirement, she enjoyed traveling by train and seeing country.

She is preceded in death by her parents David and Carrie Stokes, her brother Ralph Stokes, Daughter Lois Moorhead and Son David Moorhead.

She is survived by her sister June Stokes, daughter-in-law Cheri Moorhead, grandsons Glenn Moorhead, Stephen Moorhead and granddaughter Stacy Moorhead and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at Skyline United Methodist Church 3100 Skyline Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Monday November 19th with visitation starting at 6PM and the memorial service starting at 7PM.  All are welcome to attend.  In leu of flowers please make donations to Skyline United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

A burial service will be held at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, PA on Wednesday November 21st at 10AM.  Afterwards a lite luncheon will be held at Baden United Methodist Church 420 Dippold Ave., Baden, PA  15005.
