Georgia C. Scukas

Georgia Clare Scukas (nee Holderer), age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Glen Mills, PA on March 1, 2024.

Born in February of 1934 in Weehawken, NJ to Eva and George Holderer, she graduated from the College of St. Elizabeth’s and worked as a secretary in New York City, where she met and married her husband, Richard.

They eventually settled in Wilmington, DE where she raised four children, before embarking on a fulfilling second career as a legal secretary.   She enjoyed a long retirement, filled with activities including playing the piano, knitting, reading mysteries, and extensive travel throughout the United States and Europe.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2018.  She is survived by her children Anne, John, Paul (Jeannette), Craig (Phuong), and grandchildren James, Camille, Katie and Andrew.

Funeral Services

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE 19810, on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 11:00AM.  Friends are invited to call upon the family beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caregivers from Maris Grove and Willow Tree Hospice for their support.
