Gary Lee Fields

Gary Lee Fields passed away on October 27, 2019 at the age of 62. Born in Chester, PA he was the son of the late George T Fields and Jeannette F Fields.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie Neff Fields, his three children: Gary Lee Fields Jr. (Betsy), Stephen Eric Fields (Jaime) and Sara Ann Fields (Bryan), and one grandchild, Gary Lee Fields III.

Gary served four years in the Coast Guard earning an honorable discharge as a Machinery Technician Second Class. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Gary was a Master Mechanic and owned his own business.

Gary attended Sun Valley High School and graduated from Delaware County Area Vocational Technical Schools before joining the Coast Guard. In his down time, Gary enjoyed spending time on his boat with his wife and children, fishing, and spending time with close friends. He is remembered by his children for his weekly Sunday breakfasts, ingenuity and craftmanship, quiet humor and the depth of his love for his family. Gary was always ready to play street hockey, go on a Saturday morning fishing trip, and driving over the hills to his parents’ house. Gary’s greatest joy was becoming a grandfather and loved blowing bubbles, playing T-ball and running trains at Christmas.

He leaves behind family and friends, but he leaves them with cherished memories they will never forget.

Gary worked on our vehicles here at our office. Enjoyed his sense of humor, stories of his kids and when he became a Grandfather, truly a beam of sunshine on his face. Great man that will be missed by many. At this time of sorrow, please remember the love he had for you and the smiles he placed in your hearts. Peace by with your family at this time and the days ahead.

We are so sorry for your loss of this wonderful man. Gary was truly a family-oriented man who enjoyed being surrounded by those that he loved. As we were reading the wonderful things that you had written about him, we had memories of Sara telling us a story about each one of them. I don't think that I will see a train set at Christmas time, or a man playing with his grandson without thinking of him. He touched the lives of many people through his work and his family, and he will surely be missed by all who knew him.
