Florence “Floss” Pugliese

Florence Elizabeth Pugliese (Connor), age 92, of Wilmington, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Florence was born in Philadelphia, PA., daughter of the late Francis Joseph and Florence Elizabeth (Harkins) Connor.

Floss was very devoted to her family and enjoyed entertaining and opening her house to all those near and dear to her. In addition to throwing great parties, she loved cooking, cleaning, volunteering for the church, and shopping. She always took a position of leadership in every organization in which she was involved.

In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her devoted husband of 45 years, Anthony Pugliese, her son Eugene and her brother John.  She is survived by her daughters; Tina Ruggiero (Joe), Sharon Dean (Bruce), and her son Mark Pugliese. She was lovingly called Mom-Mom by her grandchildren, Vanessa Walker, Lauren Wise (Christian), Amanda Schauer (Patrick), and Christopher Ruggiero, and the lights of her life, great-grandchildren,  John & Logan, her “doll babies”, Emmalynn and Harper, and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at St. Helena’s Roman Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to call between 10-11am. Interment will be private.

The family requests contributions to be made to St. Helena’s Parish in her memory.
