E. Vincent Galasso

E. Vincent “Vince” Galasso, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2022. Vince was born in Pittston, PA in 1938, the son of the late Erminio and Tina (Leone) Galasso.

Vince was a graduate of Pittston High School and Kings College. He was a retail manager at Pomeroy’s, the Wilmington Dry Goods and John Wanamaker before leaving to work at Mrs. G’s Cleaning Service, a business that his wife started, until his retirement.

He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Katie Galasso and brother of Gene Galasso who both preceded him in death; Father of Rosalind Jacono (Vince), Maria Evans (Rob), and Joanne Press (Gary): and Grandfather to Vincent Jacono (Jayne), Samuel Evans and Daniel Press.

Vince was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vince’s favorite charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Funeral Services

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 10:30AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine. Interment will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, 10 Church Rd., Wilmington, DE 19807. All are welcome.

    As a young man, I worked for Mr. Galasso at Wilm. Dry Goods downtown store. He was a pleasure to work for. I learned a lot from him & had a ton of respect for him. Although it's been decades since I last saw him, he was the kind of man who left a lasting impression.
