Dr. Juhi Anil Jagiasi

Dr. Juhi A. Jagiasi, MD, age 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.  Born on September 6, 1964, in India; she was daughter of Ms. Bharati and Mr. Ram Bhatia.  She obtained her doctors degree (MBBS) in India and came to USA in 1993 after getting married to Anil Jagiasi.  She completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) residency and fellowship from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee specializing in Anesthesiology and moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 2002 to work for St. Francis Hospital as attending Anesthesiologist. She then worked for outpatient surgery centers in Newark, Delaware from 2009 to 2017 and finally worked for the Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Delaware from 2018 to 2022.

Juhi was very charismatic, multi-talented, caring and loving. She was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt one could ask for.  She was the best breathtaking expressive dancer; one could not take their eyes away from her whenever she danced.

Despite being in the medical field, her passion for Indian Fashion Art & Beauty (IFAB) events was immense.  She won the title of Mrs. India Delaware in 2010 and participated in Ms. Earth pageant in Philippines.  She organized several beauty pageants, fashion shows and singing events to promote young talent. Starting from the year 2012, she founded India Day Parade in association with Hindu Temple of Delaware. Bollywood was in her blood. Juhi has made countless contributions towards IFAB events all over the world.  Juhi had a profound passion for fashion. Inspired by the glamour of Bollywood, she founded the Indian Fashion, Art, and Beauty (IFAB) Awards, an event celebrating South Asian culture and talent.  Juhi showcased her designs at various esteemed fashion events, including Couture Fashion Week in New York and Atlantic City Fashion Week in Atlantic City, NJ.  Her contributions were recognized by the Indian and fashion community, and she was remembered fondly by several organizations such as Atlantic City Fashion Week, Hindu Temple of Delaware and many more!

Juhi is survived by her husband Anil R. Jagiasi, son Ishaan Jagiasi, sister Amrita Golani, brother Bharat Bhatia, nieces, nephews, several loving members from her in-laws and relatives in India & USA.

Her family is thankful for their cherished friends and colleagues who helped Juhi throughout her adventures journey and during her illness.

We finally lost Dr. Juhi, our beloved Juhi, after fighting with life for such a long period with her never compromising spirit and zeal she truly left an indelible mark in New Jersey Music and Fashion fraternity which nobody can ever forget. Hardly anybody will be there in this music fashion world of New Jersey who she did not give recognition through her IFAB platform. IFAB meant JUHI. Her memory her dedication, her passion is and will forever be vast, vibrant, and unforgettable. Juhi had a gift – a rare ability to bring every passionate artists together. Her love for culture was not just a passion; it was a heartbeat that resonated through her entire being. She curated events to honor artists and reminded us all of music’s transformative power to heal, inspire, and unite hearts. We all have experienced how she organized her events with precision and flair with every details, where talent and creativity took center stage under her watchful eye. She was a true patron of fashion, someone who used clothing not merely as an accessory, but as an extension of her soul. Whether she was dressing herself as I have noticed some of her early fashion and music videos or supporting emerging designers, she celebrated individuality and encouraged everyone to project their best style. Above all, Juhi was a master of connection. Through her events, her conversations, her smile, and her presence however vulnerable it was day by day, she brought community together. She created spaces where creativity flourished and friendships blossomed. She was a bridge between dreamers and doers, reminding us all of the beauty in collaboration and the importance of lifting one another up. That was Juhi and that will be Juhi forever in our heart. Dear Juhi enjoy your peaceful stay in the heaven where the music never stops, and the fashion never fades. We will miss you, but we will carry your iron strength and inspiration forward with us.

That personality did not change even after so many years and even when I met her recently at Thanksgiving she made sure everyone sang and danced. Sorry to hear about her. I do not know much about Dr. JJ in person but after meeting few times and watching her at various events. She was praised by everyone around us. Being a Dr. and Sindhi, doing so much and achieving so many accolades in such a short time and working and building community around DE peninsula area is not a easy job. I have been in US from last 20 years and have hardly seen many Sindhis around our area to build such an amazing word of mouth and praise from not just Sindhi communities folks but also other communities. Dr. Juhi would be remembered for her beautiful memories she has left with the community and family.
