Dale J. Peterson

Dale Peterson, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2026, from a stroke. Born in 1943 in Wilmington, Delaware, Dale lived a life rich in love, adventure, and achievement. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Dale was the cherished son of Donald and Lucile Peterson and grew up alongside his brothers Robert, Jon, Mark, and Tom. Dale’s love for his family was immeasurable, and he maintained a close bond with his surviving brother Tom and his wife, Debi, as well as cousins Bill and Jack. He is also survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Regina, and his son Scott, who he shared with his former wife, Jane. Dale was predeceased by his beloved son, Chad, and brothers Robert, Jon, and Mark.

Dale’s academic journey began at Salesianum High School and continued at the University of Delaware, where he earned a Master’s in Business Administration. His education laid a strong foundation for a successful career, first in the Army National Guard and later in the corporate world. Dale entered the Army National Guard in 1966, where he served with distinction as a medic. His dedication and skill earned him the highest class honor in his training and numerous commendations, including the prestigious NCO School Honor Graduate title and the Marksman Rifle Award.

Following his military service, Dale embarked on a successful career with the Avon Corporation. His leadership in the Chesapeake Division led to numerous performance awards, eventually guiding him to an executive position in New York City. Dale later transitioned to commercial real estate, where he thrived as a broker for Prime Outlets in Limmerick, PA.

Outside of his professional life, Dale found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid sailor, he spent countless summers navigating the waters off the Chesapeake Bay aboard his beloved boat, Sundance, often accompanied by family and friends. His passion for fitness was evident by his dedication to running and weight building, and he enjoyed skiing and tennis whenever the opportunity arose.

Dale shared a profound love story with his wife, Regina, whom he married on December 27, 1993. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. Dale was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dale Peterson’s memory will forever be a guiding light to those who loved him. His life was a testament to the powers of love, resilience, and kindness. He leaves behind a world made better by his presence and a family eternally grateful for the time spent together. May he rest in peace, knowing he was profoundly loved.

In accordance with Dale’s wishes, a private family funeral ceremony will be held. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family kindly requests that you honor Dale’s memory by hugging a loved one.
