Christopher Gordon Kirkpatrick, 60, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 26, 2025. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, he was especially proud when his beloved Eagles won the Super Bowl.
Christopher attended Tatnall School, Sweet Briar College, and the University of Delaware. He was an excellent athlete, excelling in Field Hockey and Lacrosse, and competed at the collegiate level.
Beyond his love of sports, Christopher had a passion for collecting. He amassed a vast collection of baseball hats to pair with his equally impressive sneaker collection. He also had a deep love for music and found great joy in singing, playing the piano, and strumming his guitar.
He had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs, and cherished the companionship of his Beagles. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—walking along the beach, watching sunsets, and marveling at dolphins in the surf. His passion for learning led him to the UD Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, where he embraced new knowledge and experiences, eagerly enrolling in several classes each session.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frances Kirkpatrick, and his first Beagle, Bandit. He is survived by his sister, Melissa Richmond; his brother, Charles Kirkpatrick; his niece, Alex Richmond; his nephew, Andrew Richmond; and his cherished Beagles, Buddy and Peanut, who brought him endless joy.
