Born in Wilmington, Mrs. Poppitt was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Marie (Connor) McCool. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard (Dick) J. Poppitt, her son Dennis (Denny) Dougherty, her sister Marie F. McCool Sullivan and her brother Charles (Chuck) F. McCool. She was blessed with two loving children, Denny and Marianne and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was always the consummate nurse and very proud of her profession. Charlotte and Dick loved to travel outside the United States and went regularly to Rehoboth Beach, DE.
