Carolyn Welsh

Carolyn Welsh, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was 59 years old.

She is survived by her loving father, Bob; brother, Mike; sister, Betsy, and her husband, Erik; and brother-in-law, Rich, along with several nephews, a niece, and her beloved cat. She was predeceased by her mother, Cathy Welsh, and her sister, Amy.

Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked as an accounting clerk and enjoyed volunteering at the Delaware Theatre Company, the Grand Opera House, and Hagley Museum and Library.

Funeral Services

A service will be held at Christ Church Christiana Hundred Chapel on Saturday, August 8, at 11:30 a.m. The chapel is located inside the parish house.

So sorry to hear about Carolyn’s passing. I didn’t know her for that long, but I had a few dinners with her as part of holiday gatherings with my family. Her brother joined us for one of the last times we shared a meal. She was always very friendly and open with me. I hope she is resting in peace as that cancer was causing her so many difficulties. My prayers to you Carolyn and your family.
