Belinda Shields Young

Belinda Shields Young, age 72, of Bensalem, PA, formerly of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from complications from Dementia at Accent Care Wilmington Hospital, Inpatient Hospice Center.

Belinda was born in Muskogee, OK, daughter of the late Pat Shields and Deanne Womack Shields. She attended several schools growing up in Crescent,OK; Pryor, OK; Winslow, AR; Clarksville, AR; Duenweg, MO; and Idabel, OK. She studied computer science at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, OK.

She worked in the fashion industry with a focus on pageant wear, evening wear, and bridal dresses. Belinda was involved for years in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant System as a seamstress and ardent supporter of the contestants. She loved working in the pageant world and was truly happiest during those times. Belinda also enjoyed watching NASCAR and staying in touch with friends and family on Facebook.

Belinda is predeceased by her son, Josh Young. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Uro (Anthony), of Wilmington DE, her grandchildren; Josh Uro and Linda Uro, of Wilmington DE, her sister, Susan Hettig (Kevin), of Portage MI, her brother, Mike Shields (Lynn), of Montgomery AL, her sister-in-law, Kathy Shields (Tim), of Carlin, NV, her nieces and nephews in Nevada and Alabama and her Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Arkansas and Texas.

Services will be private.
