Dear Phyllis, the VOB shares a great loss. Tony was the spirit and life of our community, always welcoming and wanting to share that spirit. That hole in your heart feels massive right now, that’s because his giant personality (along with his clothes and shoes) needs a big space to fit. He lives there forever with you. Peace and Love, Gerry

Phyllis. The VOB will sorely miss our Tony, his beautiful Christmas cards each year, his fellowship to our "Turtles Club" group, his welcoming invitation to always stop by his garden (when the light was on) for a glass of wine and conversation. I specifically remember his love for his train setup, where he spent many hours putting up the most beautiful train scene ever during the Christmas season. We will miss his presence walking around our Village. You are in our hearts and prayers.

Oh, Phyllis, I am so sorry to hear of Tony's passing and I'm sure I speak for everyone in our Poetry Workshop. How wonderful to learn that Tony was a poet too! When my own husband passed, someone sent me a card that read, "A life well-lived leaves behind a beautiful bouquet of memories." Although I never had the privilege of meeting your husband, it sounds like Tony truly had a "life well-lived." My condolences to you and your family. You, Tony, and all your family are all in my prayers. Take care, really... rest and eat and know you are loved. Maryellen

    Tina Ruggerio-Carlton writes,
Dear Phyllis and Tony’s daughters, I had the privilege of working with Tony during his years with FAODV, and I will always remember the light he brought into the office each day. He greeted everyone with an infectious smile and took a genuine interest in the lives of those around him, showing kindness and compassion in a way that made people feel seen and valued. One memory that has stayed with me is from one of his winery outings, when he came across an old Army/West Point pennant. Knowing my son was attending, he thoughtfully brought it back for me. I still have it hanging in my office today—a lasting reminder of his generosity and the way he cared for others. Tony also had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always ready with a good joke or a harmless prank, bringing laughter into the workplace and making even the most stressful days a little easier. His kindness, warmth, and thoughtfulness will be deeply missed. I hope that the many memories you shared bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. With heartfelt sympathy, Tina Ruggerio-Carlton & Family
