Anne M. Butler

Anne Myers Butler, aged 90, of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025.

Anne was born in September of 1934, in Buffalo, New York, to Tilon Cornelius Myers and Monica Kling Myers. Soon after, Anne and her family moved from New York to Betterton, Maryland, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She later attended schools in Washington, D.C. (Immaculata Junior College); Chestertown, Maryland (Washington College), and Wilmington, Delaware (Goldey-Beacom College). It was Wilmington where Anne ultimately settled and met her late husband, Richard “Dick” Lockwood Butler.

Anne spent nearly 20 years during her early marriage as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She rejoined the workforce full time in 1983, beginning a 20-year career at the University of Delaware as a records specialist. Anne and Dick enjoyed an active social life in Delaware, frequently gathering with friends and their families for parties, beach and ski vacations, and—most notably—University of Delaware football games. As devoted Blue Hens fans, Anne and her late husband attended nearly every home game and many nearby away games during their 35 years as season ticket holders.

Shortly after their retirements, Anne and Dick moved to Conway, South Carolina, where they embraced golf course senior living and made many dear friends during their early retirement years. Five years after Dick’s passing in 2006, Anne relocated to Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. There, she joined a vibrant senior living community, forming new friendships, mastering new games and puzzles, and becoming a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies—a team she followed passionately until her final days.

Anne is survived by her daughters, Monica Butler of Wilmington, Delaware, and Valerie Feaunati of Bethesda, Maryland; and her granddaughter, Hailey Feaunati of Bethesda, Maryland.
