    Elizabeth McCarthy Biden writes,
Hello, I am so sorry to hear that your dad passed away. I and my siblings have many happy memories of growing up with all of you in Radnor Green. I always remember the time our moms were in New York on a trip with St. Edmond's and a barrette cut Colleen's head. Your dad hated the sight of blood and the other dads rallied around to help him. Then there was the time your dad organized a trip to a horse track in New York for my dad and Mr. Leek. They had a great time. Your dad also chipped in and helped spread the cement when my parents put in a patio. In later years, I had the pleasure of working for your dad at ICI. He insisted I call him Jack and I said "oh no, you'll always be Mr. Hogan to me." I could go on but I hope you get of what a part of our lives your dad and family were in our childhood. Your dad was such a fine man. He was so kind to us as children and that extended into later years. Your dad went out of his way to attend the funerals for both our parents. It was such a surprise to see him there and it meant so much to all of us. On behalf of all the McCarthy children, please accept our sincere condolences. May the many happy memories you all have and share during this time help you. Sincerely, Elizabeth McCarthy Biden

John and Pam, our thoughts are with you during this time. Although we never met your dad it sounds like he was well thought of and much loved. Just think of him as sailing away across the horizon. As those left behind are saying “there he goes...” others who have gone before are excitedly saying “here he comes!” And you’ll all be together in the end. Hugs, Cynthia and Randy Hobbs
