Dear Cary, I am so very sorry to see your mom past. We had so many great times growing up together. I know we all lost touch but, I have thought of you and your mom often. I hope you remember those times too. My grandparents Bessie and Major took care of you while your mom worked and traveled. You were a part of our family and we did so many things together like spending time at the beach in Dewey. I hope you remember me. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you. Love, Sherrie Hickman Saponaro

My dear Padua classmate, I was stunned to read about your death in Sunday's News Journal. Just before I left for Lewes for a week, you, Susie and I had planned to have lunch at Stanley's, until the weather disagreed with us. Now I wish we hadn't cancelled so I could have enjoyed your company one more time before God called you home. I will miss you, dear friend. Our Padua lunches won't be the same without you.

Please excuse this message being so late. We just found our about Genie's sudden passing. We are in shock.. We met Genie and Glenn many years ago at the Harborside Inn on Martha's Vineyard. On our first visit we met Genie and Glenn and we immediately purchased a unit for week #39. That purchase was mainly because we found such wonderful friends in the Colemans. Our friendship remained over the years and we were in touch many times. Before Glenn passed he insisted we come to visit which at the time was impossible with COVID. Genie and I spoke just before her passing in August. We commiserated on the fact that our granddaughters were leaving for college and the adventure life held for them. Little did I know that would be the last time I would hear her voice. I had told Genie that if she wanted to fly into Martha's Vineyard we would be sure we were at the airport to pick her up. It was then she chose to tell me about the horrific plane crash she witnessed when she was younger and her reason for not flying. Genie was such a warm and genuine person. She shared so much of herself with her friends. I have so many recipes she shared. She was so talented in her painting. I know she was having a difficult time not being able to get out because of the pandemic, but she would share with me that her family was making sure she was well stocked with items she needed. When she called me about Glenn's passing we laughed and cried over the phone. I know she was terribly lonely without Glenn and she was having a difficult time trying to go through his paperwork as she said she couldn't go into the downstairs because it made her so sad. We spoke about when the the time was right she would be able to tackle all that needed to be done. Again to say we are shocked about her death is an understatement . Our hearts are broken as we know her families are also. She was such a light of kindness and goodness. We will miss her smile and just being with her. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to her entire family.
