Anthony Horisk, 78, passed away April 20, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness. Anthony was born in Wilmington to Grace Kelly Horisk and Francis (Mike) Horisk. He grew up in the Forty Acres, attended Saint Ann’s School, and Salesianum High School. He graduated from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He also attended the New York School of Finance.
Anthony (Tony) Worked at Wilmington Finishing Company from 1973-1991 starting out as an accounting manager, then moving on to Vice President of Industrial Engineering, Vice President of Manufacturing, Executive Vice President, and finally President and CEO. He later went on to become the Employment and Training director of the ARC. From there he became a Sales Rep and Manager for Met Life. He became a Financial Advisor for Financial Advisors of Delaware Valley in 2000 and retired in 2017.
Tony enjoyed coaching for Saint Ann’s softball, basketball, and volleyball, and later coaching basketball for Saint Mary Magdalen. He also served on the Board of Directors for CYO. He was the co-chair for Saint Ann’s Centennial Committee and was instrumental in raising the funds and commissioning Charles Parks to create the statue of Saint Ann that was dedicated at the Saint Ann Parish centennial.
Tony loved music and writing poetry He published a book of his poems in 2018 entitled The Journey of Life from My Heart to Yours. He was also a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan and watched their games faithfully. He also loved watching his children and grandchildren play their sports and activities.
Tony was also known for his generosity and gift giving and his love of Christmas. One Christmas tree was not enough for Tony, it had to be three trees and three wreaths. Each Christmas he decorated the entire house with decorations that he kept adding to. He was also known for his ability to tell some outrageous stories with a straight face and leave people wondering if the stories could possibly be true.
Tony is survived by his wife of 16 years, Phyllis Horisk, his daughters Amy Lane (Greg), Andrea Janvier (Mickey), Johanna Peck (Chris), and Bridget Schaal (Jeff), his grandchildren Grace, Brady, Bodie, Rian, Riley, Tatum, Cecelia, Georgia, Helen Ben, Riley, Luna, Kira, and Logan. He is also survived by his brother Fritz Horisk (Peggy).
