Marvin Stone

Marvin Stone, age 91, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 after a long and fulfilling life.

Marvin was born in New Rochelle, New York, and after graduating from high school there, he went on to study at Pratt Institute and earned a BFA in Advertising Design. While at Pratt, Marvin met Eve, the love of his life, and after a brief courtship, they married and moved to Wilmington. They soon opened a small mom-and-pop advertising business in downtown Wilmington which they successfully ran until their retirement thirty years later.

During their sixty-seven years of marriage, they had two children, Nancy and Linda (Mark), and two grandchildren, Heather and Alex.

Marvin generously volunteered to share his expertise and talent with hundreds of art students at Osher Lifelong Learning, teaching his very popular Watercolor Painting and Travel Sketching courses. He will be missed by his family and friends. His grandchildren knew him for his stories, patience and twinkling humor.

Services and burial will be private.
