Virginia A. (Ginny) Yeager, age 75, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on April 18, 2017 at her home peacefully surrounded by her children.
Ginny was a member of the first graduating class of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1959. She worked for INA, then CIGNA Insurance Company, and retired from A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Ginny then devoted her time by working part-time for the Blue Rocks for 11 years and everyone knew her for her kindness and loyalty.
She was a member of the Brandywine Hundred Ladies Auxiliary for over 59 years, holding the President’s office for 22 years and held several offices for the New Castle County – State of Delaware Ladies Auxiliary. She was the first female to receive the President’s Emeritus Award for Brandywine Hundred Fire Company.
Ginny is survived by her three children, Teresa A. Jenkins (William), Joseph K. Yeager (Sandra Ingram), and Kelly M. Yeager, all of Wilmington; grandchildren, James K. Johnson III (Nicole), Alex and Ashley Jo Yeager, and Crystal Manerchia (Frank); great-grandchildren, the apple of her eye, James K. Johnson IV and Chloe and Connor Rogers, Frank, Savannah and Scarlette Manerchia, and Emily Ingram. She is also survived by her brother, George Morris (Kathy) and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
