Thomas Joseph LaBarbera

Thomas Joseph LaBarbera, age 49, of Wilmington, formerly of New Fairfield, CT, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

Thom graduated from New Fairfield High School in 1985 and then attended Western Connecticut State University from 1985 to 1989. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2002.

He was a teacher at Concord High School in the Brandywine School District and formerly taught at Caravel Academy.

Thom was predeceased by his grandparents Tom and Carmella LaBarbera of Connecticut and Adolph and Anna Konopka of New York. Thom is survived by his sons Benjamin and Samuel, and their mother, JJ McDonald, all of Wilmington; his parents Gene and Marianna LaBarbera of New Fairfield, CT; brother Paul and his wife Suzanne and their children Nick, Isabelle and Cassandra LaBarbera all of Red Hook, NY; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the State Parks Trust Fund, Delaware Community Foundation, PO Box 1636, Wilmington, DE 19899.
