Thelma R. Baron

Thelma R. Baron, age 96, of Hockessin, DE, formerly of Bucks County, PA and Plainfield, NJ, died peacefully on Monday May 12th, 2025.

She was born in 1928 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Shirley (Graham) and Benjamin Rosenson. She shared a close relationship with her younger brother David Rosenson, until his passing in 2022. Thelma grew up in a loving home with extended family close by, and often shared fond memories of her early years with her daughters and granddaughter.

Thelma attended college at University of Miami before working for the Commerce and Industry Association of New York Inc. in Manhattan until her marriage. She married Alfred Baron in 1952 and was blessed with two beloved girls, Carolyn and Jennifer whom they raised in Levittown, PA.

Thelma and Alfred moved to Coffee Run in Hockessin, DE in 1981, where they built a lovely community of friends whom they cherished deeply. She enjoyed her work as a customer service representative at Dupont until her retirement at the age of 63. Thelma lived at Coffee Run until her death. Over the last few years her daughter Carolyn was her main caregiver, with lots of support from her daughter Jennifer who lives in NJ.

She was very loved by friends and family. She was known for her fashion sense, love of flowers and sweets, and her dedication to others. She enjoyed reading novels, and the New York Times, doing crosswords, completing puzzles and spending hours in communion with family and friends.

Thelma is survived by her daughters Carolyn Baron of Hockessin, DE and Florence, Italy and Jennifer Baron of Metuchen, NJ; son-in-law Robert Filocco, cherished granddaughter Emily Filocco, and niece Maggie Rosenson of Mississippi, along with many other beloved nieces and nephews on her husband’s side.

So many memories I enjoyed with Thelma at Joe and Nan’s place. She always had a big smile and great conversations. My husband Pat enjoyed baking sweets for her, especially lemon meringue pie. She will be missed.

Thelma Baron and her husband Al were so wonderful to the Fauser Family. Our parents David and Pauline Fauser met them at Coffee Run and they "adopted" us and spent time with our parents. Thelma was so very kind - she looked out for my brothers Kurt and Karl who still live in Coffee Run. Every time that I talked with Thelma she was always so upbeat, positive and so proud of her daughters and her grandchildren. God Bless Carolyn for leaving her live in Milan to live with Thelma! Mrs, Baron - you will be in our hearts forever. Love Always, Martha Brady David Fauser Karl, Ralph, Laura Williams, Anna Marie Smith, Kurt Fauser.

Thelma was such a delight to work with at DuPont. Although our paths didn't cross for all that long, I remember her smile, her positive attitude and her willingness to get things done right. She will be greatly missed. May I convey my condolences and sympathy to her family.
