Sharada Hirisave

Sharada Hirisave, age 82, beloved mother of Prathibha, Pramoda, and Prathap, passed away on February 13, 2018 in West Grove, Pennsylvania after an illness. 

She grew up in Bangalore, India, where she worked for the state government of Karnataka, and married her husband H.S. Ramachandra.  After his passing in 1996, she split her time between Bangalore, and the U.S. with her children and their families. 

In the U.S., Sharada enjoyed going on walks, knitting, reading, and doing sudoku. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, telling them stories and teaching them how to read and write Kannada. Sharada looked forward to her yearly trips to Bangalore to visit friends, family, and her favorite temples. 

Sharada had a sharp and creative mind, and was known for cooking new and old favorites for everyone who passed through her door. Her hardworking, generous spirit and loving nature will be greatly missed.

Sharada leaves behind five siblings, as well as her three children, their spouses, and six grandchildren: Her daughter Prathibha, husband Ravi, and their children Amulya and Chaitra. Her daughter Pramoda, husband Ajay, and their children Surya and Savi. And her son Prathap, wife Vidhya, and their children Sanjaya and Aditya. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Homes & Crematory, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware 19707 where a visitation will also be held beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
