Scott Alan Brumbaugh

Scott Alan Brumbaugh came into our lives not in the usual way. He was delivered at Plymouth Meeting Mall on April 30, 1975 by the US Air Force fresh from two weeks at Ft. Benning, GA. We called that his first birthday. At the time neither the Air Force nor Vietnam issued birth certificates for children rescued via the Air Lift, so that is the extent of his pedigree. Scott left us December 18, 2017 on his way home from a concert in Nashville, when he was involved in a tragic car accident. He was 43 years old.

Scott was an accomplished mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He most recently had a painting business with his wife.

Scott will be remembered by those who knew him as a kind soul, who loved, and was wonderful with children, loved animals (and rescued many), greatly enjoyed fishing, bonfires and music, and most of all, loved his family. Although he could not read music, Scott was a talented pianist—both player and composer. In addition, Scott taught himself to play the guitar. In the last two years, Scott fulfilled his dream of having a farm and moved from Yorklyn to Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, to a 46-acre farm. He lived there until his death, enjoying the Tennessee country. He had recently acquired horses and was looking forward to learning to ride and care for them.

Scott is survived by his parents, Robert and Deborah Brumbaugh of Yorklyn; his wife, Jessica Brumbaugh (nee Robnett) of Cumberland Furnace, TN, his daughters Erin and Kara and step daughters, Ashley, Heather and Nicole, as well as two grandsons, Austin and Aiden. He is additionally survived by siblings, Kathy Shattuck (Charles) of Hockessin, Sarah Kastriner (Cate) of Yorklyn, Josh Lanahan (Michelle) of Portsmouth, NH, and Lea Ann Bowers (Tim) of Woodbury, NJ. His humor, kindness and warmth will be missed by many other friends and relatives.
