In 1978 — fresh out of college — I joined ICI Americas and began my career on the Corporate Training Program. The normal path was to have four six-month assignments to give a young engineer a chance to see what the company and industry had to offer and give the company a chance to see what you had to offer. After only two six-month assignments. I was given a permanent position at Atlas Point, where Ron Roat was the Plant Manager. I’m not 100% certain, but I have to believe that Ron had something to do with me getting me that early position. I learned a lot from Ron and my other managers and enjoyed my seven years at Atlas Point and the remainder of my 25 year career with ICI. I wish Ron peace and serenity. With Condolenses, Doug Horst

Dear Eleanor, I'm the guy who stopped by Ron's room almost every day to chat with you and Ron on the way back to visit my wife, Debbie. I could see how much your visits meant to him. He really perked up while you were there. Deb and I will continue to pray for you and Ron. God bless.
