Rochelle Weetman

Rochelle Weetman, age 65, passed away suddenly on March 5, 2022 in Wilmington, Delaware. Rochelle was born in Wallace, Idaho, the daughter of Jesse and Sally Burkett (Forkner). She married her beloved husband, George Weetman, in 1982 and they raised their family in Wallace until George passed away. Rochelle moved to Warrenton, Oregon to be close to the ocean, and later to San Antonio, Texas for inspiration for her writing. She settled in Wilmington, Delaware in 2001.

Rochelle had various careers; at the Taco House in Wallace; as a cosmetologist; as an EMT; as a writer of novels; and most importantly as the mother and matriarch of the Weetman clan. She enjoyed traveling across the country, visiting her family in Idaho, writing poetry and novels, cooking, and spending time with her many friends on Facebook, especially the Kaleidoscope of Magical Perceptions.

Rochelle’s husband George predeceased her in 1995. She was also predeceased by both of her birth parents. Her adopted mother, Evelyn May (Roe) Rogers Burkett, passed in 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Roger), her two sons, Jesse and Michael, three grandchildren, Kortni (Ryan), Habi, and Gabriel, two great-grandchildren Karter and Kolton, her two step-brothers Dave (Cindy) and Tim (Bunny), her best friend Hobbs, as well as her pets Moki (dog) and Murr (cat).

Wiccan burial and funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests taking a moment to hug the friends, spouses, and children in your life and strive to be happy. By the Lady, blessed be.

My heart goes out to the family. Rochelle (Shelly back then) was my next door neighbor growing up. We had so much fun playing dolls in the playhouse we made outside, swinging on a wire swing until Cindy got hurt, playing with Darla riding our horses, etc. Too many fun times to recount them all. Glad to have recently reconnected. Rest In Peace dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard when you lose both parents. Your dad and I were best friends through high school and he informed me of his happiness when he found your mom. I hope they had a good life together. May God hold you in the palm of his hand during this difficult time.
