Robert (Bob) S. Strouss, age 86, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on August 17, 2021. He was a very blessed man. Not only did he live to be 86, but he had a clear memory of all the good things that happened to him in his life with God, his loving family, and friends.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1934 to David and Emma (Michael) Strouss. He moved to Delaware when he was a young man. Bob graduated from the University of Delaware with a Civil Engineering Degree in 1957. He joined the Army in 1958 as a lieutenant and was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Arriving back in the states, he joined Dupont and worked there for 35 years helping to build several manufacturing plants in Seaford, DE, Wilmington, NC, and Charleston, SC.
Bob married the love of his life, Shirley (Singleton) Strouss on September 10, 1955. They started dating during their junior year in high school and were married for almost 66 years. They had three children: Terri Mingoia (John), Keith (Tara), and David (Dolores). He is predeceased by his older brother, D. Michael Strouss and his wife Maggi. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Doris Hackman, who was like a sister to him.
Bob had seven grandchildren who will miss him dearly. John (Debbie), Bobby (Diana), Kat (Scott), Lisa (Ben), Jamie (Sarah), Whitney, Patrick. He also had 12 great grandchildren with another great grandchild due in November. Carina, Johnny, Adriana, Anthony, Evan, Nyah, Hareena, Makada, Safiya, Kaleigh, Asha, and Theo. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Michael, Mary, Kristin, and Chuck (Donata). The three most important things to Bob were God, family, and country.
He had a long loving relationship with his church “Outreach of God’s Word” and the pastor, Bob Mathieson and his wife Kathy. He also has many friends he considers family.

Funeral Services
A celebration of Bob Strouss’ life will be held August 30 at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Visitation starting at 5:00 pm and a service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be private with his immediate family at the Veteran’s Cemetery.
