Richard L. “Bop” Williams, born in January 1935 in Wilmington, DE, passed away at age 83 on May 30, 2018 in Wilmington.

Richard worked at Ferris School for Boys. He loved horseracing, Wildwood NJ, and was an avid collector and movie buff.

Richard was the husband of the late Joan Williams. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Williams; and daughter, Toni Tomlinson. Richard is survived by his daughter, Kerry Sheldon and her husband Gary Sheldon; grandchildren, Brooks Wilson, Patrick Sheldon, Lauren Sheldon, Jenna Sheldon, Evan Williams and Rebecca Hawkins; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Carr, Aidan Wilson, Ryan Wilson, and Jesse Wilson.

Funeral Services

In respect of his wishes, friends and family members may attend his Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 16 at Delaware Park in the picnic area at 1:15pm. The Richard Williams “Bop” Memorial Race will be held at 2:15pm.
