RICHARD ALEXANDER ROBLETO, age 71 of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Rich was born on September 2, 1950, and grew up in Levittown, PA, as the third of eight children living in a two-bedroom house. After graduating from Bishop Egan HS and Temple University, Rich married his high-school sweetheart, Barbara Danaher, before moving to Delaware. Rich and Barbara had three children and resided for nearly twenty years in Hockessin. During that time, Rich built a successful career at Blue Cross & Blue Shield while doing vital work with The Arc of Delaware to improve the lives of thousands of people across the state. Subsequently, Rich married Michelle Thomas and moved to Tallahassee where, prior to retirement, he served as Florida Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Director of Florida Healthy Kids and an adjunct professor at FSU.
Rich was a loving husband, dedicated father, doting grandfather, dutiful son, supportive brother, generous neighbor, tireless advocate, selfless volunteer, avid golfer, amateur painter, would-be harmonica virtuoso, numbers enthusiast, marathon runner and fishing buddy. But nothing meant more to him than time spent with his family. Rich is survived by his wife Michelle, sons Jeff (Katie) and Greg (Selena), daughter Jill, grandchildren Kaylee and Ginelle, dogs Teddy and Austin as well as everyone whose lives he made brighter with his infinitely generous spirit and endearing trademark sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Arc of Delaware, Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee or your favorite charity.
